Buoyancy Calculator

I made a little buoyancy calculator to figure out what is the smallest board to float a particular weight rider. What ended up being interesting is that if you graph weight in kilos versus board volume in liters you get a linear function, so it seems to confirm the body weight in kilos plus 20 liters for beginner boards across the range of weights. Any thoughts from people smarter than me? Did I get this formula right? 😂

1kg of fresh water displaces 1l. In addition to the board, the weight of the foil, the gear the rider wears, and the wing are also factors to consider, hence the rough “add 20” rule.

Makes sense! Was wondering why all the numbers were hovering around the weight in kilos.

Would be cool to have a selection button where you can select if it’s for: downwind, sup, wing, and tweak the liter suggestion based on that too since I feel like the necessary volume varies.
Super cool tool!
