Lake Lopez

Did my first trip to Lake Lopez this past weekend and absolutely scored! We had three days in a row of really good wind and rode for around 3 hours per day. As someone who typically rides in the ocean it was a really nice chance to practice tacks and some other wing tricks. As is almost always the case with winging everyone there was super friendly and gave us some of the inside knowledge on what to look for in the weather to see if it will blow there. Also got a chance to try some smaller wings which as a 195lb guy was a pretty cool thing. I rode the 4m and 4.5m Dlab slick from duotone and both felt more powerful than my 5m pinion. The camping was all pretty nice and overall was a really cool trip. Definitely recommend it to someone on a road trip or wanting a flat water place to learn or practice.

Lake riding is really fun. I never work on skills otherwise, Turns out there are so many options to try out winging. How was the campground for kids who don't wing?

Yeah exactly. Whenever Im riding in the ocean I get too distracted by swell and waves. The campground was pretty nice, I think one of them had a playground and there's a water park, ropes course, and zip line next to a little beach. It wasn't open yet but in mid summer I bet its really fun for kids.

Thanks for the info on Lake Lopez. I'm hoping to add a feature to the website eventually where users can upload spot information including conditions, nearby camping, integrated GPS, best time of year, weather forecasts, etc. Unfortunately, I have a lot more coding to learn before I can build that (or we can convince Boaz to come aboard if this community ever takes off!). However, in the meantime, we could add Spot info pages in the appropriate Locals Only forums which could then be transferred to a separate database or webpage by me. Here's an example of what I'm thinking, except we would cater it to foiling: Example structure

Don't tell anyone of my master plans!

@Wingman Thats a cool idea. Would be really helpful especially for the lakes cause they can be kinda tricky.

There's so much we could do by actually building a real community and expanding the website features. Imagine if everything was in one location: all the Facebook groups, a comprehensive used gear market place, locations... One can dream.

Oh, and an elimination of all the team rider nonsense.
