Sounds like a good setup. Mohave is fun. Almost that time of year for us to start going there. I hear Mead is good too

Hopefully you already bought some new gear as I'm late to this thread. If so, congratulations!

If not, I would always recommend the newest gear you can afford. When you price out the newest generation of gear, all the brands are very competitively priced. You can buy older generation AXIS gear if you're on a budget. It's still good. It's not as good as the newer gear though. We are talking in 10% increments give or take though. Not the huge leaps we saw in the beginning.

Code is my recommendation for all new foilers at the moment. Every piece of gear they put out is current generation and it's all good. You can't really go wrong there. Unless you just buy something that's too advanced (small) for what you want to do. Stick to the s series for the level you've described yourself at. The standard mast is probably fine for you too.
