What up Wingers? I need help choosing a Big Boy foil setup for the Sasquatch... I like doing upwind/downwind in LV swell riding, and also riding in variable inconsistent LT lake winds. I’m looking for a Big Boy rated foil setup, stiff carbon mast, two different front wings. One for riding swell, and the other for a very low end stall, for the inconsistent light winds. If you know of anyone who weighs over 240lbs or 110kg, and what gear they’re currently using, hook me up! I had a similar problem in the early 2000s with skis being too small for the Big Man. I just wanted a tough ski that was 120-130 underfoot and 140-150 tips. It seemed crazy back then, but now it’s very common to see even smaller riders using on 4ft powder days. That’s my comparison. Any help for the Big guy @ 240lbs/110kg would be greatly appreciated. See ya on H20

Man that’s a good question. The classic big guy foils have been AXIS. They really seem to focus on big glidey foils. I’m not too familiar with their newest models, but the 1050 HPS is a fan favorite. Then for ultra low stall speed you could get a 1301 or 1150 (slow). They also make an incredibly stiff mast especially if you want to shell out some dough.
I’ve been hearing great things about the Code 1300 but haven’t tried it. They also have a super stiff mast. They make some of the best swell riding foils I’ve tried. There’s a reason everyone is riding their stuff for SUP downwind races. It’s really them or AXIS. UNTIL the new KTs are released.
AFS also has some very glidey foils to check out. The Pure 1100 doesn’t have the lowest stall speed but it’s a pump and glide machine.
I would say AXIS if you really want a super low stall speed foil. Code if you want the best foil.
Clinton Yap is around 250 and crushes wave riding on some mid aspect gofoil though.

Foiling is my life.

I'm 240lbs and ride the Axis 1310 with an 8m Cabrinha Vision wing in 10kts. Axis recently released the ART 1401 and I would check that out if buying gear now. Also, I would recommend getting a light, high volume board. I recently switched from a Starboard Takeoff 7'1" 150L to a KT Wing Drifter 130L and its a night and day difference. The KT has a much better hull design to allow for easier liftoff and even with the lower volume the weight savings of the carbon construction easily makes up for the 20L loss.

GoFoil. Axis. Both have options. Go foil just came out with a new mast so you might find a deal on the last mast and some gt2200 foils maybe. Nl*** series wings should be really cheap used.
Axis recommendations above seem good. The big spitfire is supposed to be great. I would start with just that one and one of the skinny tails.
Code is a fully built out system that is all current generation gear. So if buying new I’d go that way. 1300s to start.
