Surfers killed in Baja

This is a really awful situation. I had thought about going down to Mexico a couple months ago to film a YouTube video and hit all the epic wave spots on the wing, but after this latest incident I don’t think I’ll do that for the forseeable future. I’m not even very keen on driving to La Ventana with the state of things down there. It’s a real shame because that west coast could be an epic place to camp and wing for cheap.

Yeah that story makes me sad about it too. Honestly though, you just stick to the main areas, get a hotel room, you're fine. Where they were feels SUPER remote. There is no help out there and it's not populated with surfers. La Ventana is totally fine and not like that at all.

La Ventana doesn’t carry the same appeal as driving out to the middle of nowhere and finding 100 yard long perfect waves lined up forever, setting up a beach camp, and buying fish tacos for a few bucks and just repeating it for a month straight.

Totally get why these dudes took the trip they did. I think the danger has been downplayed. Only after this incident have I learned that Ensenada to San Quintin is apparently a psycho tweaker hellscape.

Callum was an absolute unit too, and it didn’t matter.
