What safety gear or personal items are you using when foiling?

The tops of my feet were so torn up after my first session. Ridiculous. After you start getting regular flights you can stop wearing booties. But definitely wear them for the first few sessions, even in warm water.

I would go back and forth with the booties and only wear them at the rocky launches (the last few low tides at Leo were brutal), but then I have to adjust my footstraps each time and getting the footstraps just right (not too tight not too loose), is an art more than a science.

@Jbwiden What did I get wrong about the marine radio stuff? Maybe you could put a better summary here for future searchers.
