Re: Pretty fun at Piru!
I didn't buy a pass this year and fully regretted it. I'll buy one next year most likely. It really is a great spot. Use the Nam3km on Ikite for a pretty accurate forecast up there. If it says 15 MPH, that'll be the low/average wind. The gusts would probably be at or just over 20. So you might have ...

Re: the search for 2nd foil setup
Hopefully you already bought some new gear as I'm late to this thread. If so, congratulations! If not, I would always recommend the newest gear you can afford. When you price out the newest generation of gear, all the brands are very competitively priced. You can buy older generation AXIS gear if yo...

Re: 250lbs Big boy club
GoFoil. Axis. Both have options. Go foil just came out with a new mast so you might find a deal on the last mast and some gt2200 foils maybe. Nl*** series wings should be really cheap used. Axis recommendations above seem good. The big spitfire is supposed to be great. I would start with just that o...

Re: Kauai (North Shore) -Anini beach area: times to wing?
I know on Maui there are no wind sports before a specific time. I’ll ask my buddy on Kauai if they have any rules like that.
Checked. He says no rules like Maui. Best wind is mid day. It’s often gusty.

Re: Lake Lopez
Lake riding is really fun. I never work on skills otherwise, Turns out there are so many options to try out winging. How was the campground for kids who don't wing?

It get's easier. I still fall off a lot. But I also can paddle up on tiny unbreaking waves now. So there are benefits.

Yeah that story makes me sad about it too. Honestly though, you just stick to the main areas, get a hotel room, you're fine. Where they were feels SUPER remote. There is no help out there and it's not populated with surfers. La Ventana is totally fine and not like that at all.

Re: Where are you all winging tomorrow, May 5?
Plenty wind to get home by 4:30. Nobody needs that 27 MPH nonsense. When 12 is the # you're looking to see to get on the water, that's a super good forecast for tomorrow. I'm out for the day unfortunately.
