Re: On Foil Foot switch : "Yips" or baulks

I talk about this exact thing at 10:16 and 17:30 of my Jibing for Dummies video. I wouldn’t say it’s completely psychological. The most important thing is finding that center of balance like I demonstrate at 10:16, but there are a few things that can help with that. Tune your foil so that it is as s...

Re: PFI928

Hey Salkan, Great to hear you’re foiling consistently. I actually think the i99 is a pretty decent foil considering how old it is. What I like about it is that it has a very low stall speed. I don’t like the i76 for wingfoiling. With those low aspect foils, the i76 just doesn’t have any glide. There...

Makes sense! Was wondering why all the numbers were hovering around the weight in kilos.

Buoyancy Calculator

I made a little buoyancy calculator to figure out what is the smallest board to float a particular weight rider. What ended up being interesting is that if you graph weight in kilos versus board volume in liters you get a linear function, so it seems to confirm the body weight in kilos plus 20 liter...

Re: Pretty fun at Piru!

Sent you a PM with the info. There’s a pretty big crew that goes up now and you might be able to arrange a carpool for downwinder with one of the other learners. If the forecast looks decent show up around 12 or so and I bet you’ll see people

Sounds like a good setup. Mohave is fun. Almost that time of year for us to start going there. I hear Mead is good too

Re: the search for 2nd foil setup

Thanks, I figured it would be a bus to turn didn't think about how it would be trying to jibe.... you think the razor or razor pro would compare to the code 850s at all, or which wing of sabfoil would be in that realm? a question for Dominique maybe if he chimes in ;) I would guess the Razor Pro 87...

Re: the search for 2nd foil setup

I sent this thread to Dominique so hopefully he’ll chime in. I tried the Leviathon with a hybrid board and I was almost able to pump it on foil in zero wind. However once up it’s a very different sort of ride. Jibing is tricky. It’s more for dockstarting or learning to flat water paddle in my opinio...

Re: the search for 2nd foil setup

Oh Sabfoil makes excellent foils and they also have some good Tuttle options so you could get their Tuttle adapter to leave on the Wingfoil board and the track adapter for your wing board. They have a quick change system to make going back and forth easy. dcj uses Sab and would know more about their...

Re: the search for 2nd foil setup

Wow. Definitely a lot of variables to consider. It’s not like it was 2 years ago when some foil brands were way better than others. Most brands now have good foils. Unifoil makes nice foils. They tend to be user friendly more than high performance more surfy and easy lift than high speed or infinite...
